Rose Garden

Nick's loving look: a staple of this relationship.

(Disambiguation: see as place of wedding, media frenzy, focus of Five's 'documentary' Nick and Dave - Where Did It All Go Right?, scene of heartless Canadian seduction by DCam)

The Rose Garden was the site of the first Clameron press conference, where the two starry eyed politicians stepped out from their quiet drawing room into the media glare.

Side by side they walked, stood, spoke, joked and touched, looking as comfortable with each other as if they had been BFFs forever, while Britain wondered if it was witnessing the first gay wedding in office. (Nick Robinson and Laura Kuenssberg knew it was.)

Thanks to this event, an ecological by-product of the Clameron effect was discovered: objective scientific observation confirmed that the sun came out quicker, the bells chimed more prettily in the distance than ever before, the birds sang their hearts out and agreed in their little nests. Even the flowers bloomed harder, better, faster, stronger. It is now debated whether to 'deploy the Clegg' and his bf to desert regions in an effort to provide long-lasting regeneration.

That Joke In Full (No, Not The Coalition Agreement)[edit | edit source]

The Rose Garden was site of the now-infamous "joke" which melted the hardest of hearts across the country and let Laura Kuenssberg's squee echo around the entire garden.

Q: Prime Minister, do you now regret that when once asked what your favourite joke was, you replied "Nick Clegg"?
David forgets his vows.

DCam: Er...
Nick: Did you say that?
DCam: I'm afraid I did –
Nick: Oh, right. *eyes fill with pain*
DCam: *flusters*
Nick: I'm off! *flounces off*
DCam: COME BAAAAAAACK!
Nick: *zips back*
DCam: *makes blatant double entendres about eating humble pie and swallowing words*

Fandom: WHAT THE ACTUAL SHIT. DID THAT JUST HAPPEN? *rushes to LJ to check if anyone else saw the same thing*
*they all did*

And then government was gay. And there was much rejoicing.

Warnings, Fair Maidens[edit | edit source]

Clameron could do well to remember the words of the popular song which states:

I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden.
Along with the sunshine, there has to be a little rain sometime.

A first test of their relationship was the heartless use of the Rose Garden as a seduction ground by DCam to practise his wiles on the Canadian PM. As the news broke, he received comm-wide approbation: there were calls for a "DCam is the real tart" tag (and much speculation about how Nicky would punish him - no news has been reported on whether said punishment was of any use.) We're keeping a beady eye on the Rose Garden and its uses in future.
