A Tory MP elected in 2015, who bears a suspicious resemblance to leftwing journalist Owen Jones. With his Tintin haircut and youthful countenance, Tom Pursglove has long given the impression of a schoolboy who has mistakenly wandered into the Commons Chamber.
Life and Career[edit | edit source]
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Tom was born in Kettering. He attended Sir Christopher Hatton School in Wellingborough, his local comprehensive, and read politics at Queen Mary College, University of London.
Early Political Career[edit | edit source]
Tom's political career began at the tender age of 18, when he was elected to Wellingborough Borough Council, becoming the youngest councillor in the country. There were two other Tory teenagers elected with him. He was re-elected in 2011, but did not stand in 2015, as he was running for Parliament instead.
While serving on the council he worked as a parliamentary assistant to Chris Heaton-Harris (the Conservative MP for Daventry) and PETER BONE. He was also the deputy chairman of the Wellingborough Conservative Association.
Parliamentary Career[edit | edit source]
Tom was elected for Corby in 2015, turfing out Labour's Andy Sawford, who had won the seat in the 2012 by-election after Louise Mensch fucked off to America to tweet conspiracy theories.
He served various ministers as a PPS, including disgraced former Defence Secretary Liam Fox and Home Secretary Sajid Javid. As the Tory most likely to mistaken for a child, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party for Youth in 2018, but he resigned to vote against Theresa May's Brexit deal.

Appearance[edit | edit source]
Tom bears an uncanny resemblance to socialist Guardian columnist Owen Jones. Have they ever been seen in the same room together? We're not sure.
Ideology[edit | edit source]
Tom Pursglove is a hard Brexiteer.
If he had to choose, he would rather be a glove than a purse.[1]
