He's a rather engaging geezer~ Boris Johnson[1]

Known for trying to be an MP, failing to do his job as an MEP and being against non-British people taking British jobs unless that person is his wife and the job is being his parliamentary secretary.

Life and Career[edit | edit source]

Apparently he was born like a human being and not foisted upon us by evils known or unknown.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

At 18 Farage was part of the Army Cadets. Because of course he was.

Presumably, he had one.

Pre-political Career[edit | edit source]

Former stockbroker but honest he's just a regular guy like you and me.

Early Political Career[edit | edit source]

Farage was active in the Conservative Party from his school days, having seen a visit to his school by Enoch Powell. However, he voted for the Green Party in 1989 because of what he saw as their then "sensible" and Eurosceptic policies. He left the Conservatives in 1992 in protest at John Major government's signing of the Treaty on European Union at Maastricht. He was a founding member of UKIP in 1993.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Farage was elected to the European Parliament in 1999 and re-elected in 2004, 2009 and 2014. In 1999 the BBC spent four months filming a documentary about his European election campaign but did not air it. Farage, then head of the UKIP's South East office, asked for a video and had friends make copies which were sold for £5 through the UKIP's magazine. Surrey Trading Standards investigated and Farage admitted the offence. Farage is presently the leader of the 24-member UKIP contingent in the European Parliament, and co-leader of the multinational Eurosceptic group, Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy.

He stood against John Bercow in the 2010 general election and came third - to Mr Speaker and a man in a dolphin costume[2].

2015 General election[edit | edit source]

Farage stood unsuccessfully in the 2015 general election as the UKIP candidate for South Thanet. After many weeks of campaigning and having to deal with AL Murray, The Pub Landlord (who stood against him as a protest candidate), Farage lost to the Conservative candidate by 2,812 votes.

Resignation[edit | edit source]

Following his unsuccessful attempt to get elected to Parliament, Farage resigned as leader of UKIP.

De-resignation[edit | edit source]

However, the UKIP NEC couldn't stand for that and refused to accept his resignation. Farage retracted his offer to resign and took up the post of leader of the party once again.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Apparently TWO WOMEN married him and he's had sex at least 4 times.

Ideology[edit | edit source]

Hates the EU. A lot.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Surprisingly, there are a number of tumblrs dedicated to his appearance including:

Portrayal[edit | edit source]

In the Media[edit | edit source]

The Tory media kind of love him for the most part.

In Culture[edit | edit source]

In Fanon[edit | edit source]

Generally not favourably viewed, although he does have some tumblr fans.

There is a website where you can paint with his face, though.
