Life and Career[edit | edit source]

Early Life[edit | edit source]

He is 29th great grandson of King Henry I, 4th cousin once removed of Elizabeth II, and 5th cousin once removed of Sir Oswald Mosley. So you could probably say he's pretty well connected.

Hunt was born in Lambeth Hospital and educated at Charterhouse School, where he was Head Boy, before attending Magdalen College, Oxford, where he graduated with a First in PPE. While at Oxford he was involved in Conservative politics, where David Cameron and Boris Johnson were contemporaries. He was active in the Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA), and was elected to serve as President in 1987.

Pre-political Career[edit | edit source]

After university Hunt worked for two years as a management consultant at OC&C Strategy Consultants, and then decided to pursue life as an English language teacher in Japan. This causes much merriment amongst loliticians who like to imagine how far his eyes would pop out if he chanced upon yaoi. Wiki says that he is an "enthusiast of modern Japanese and other east Asian cultures".

On his return to Britain he tried his hand at a number of different entrepreneurial business ventures, including a failed attempt to export marmalade to Japan.

Parliamentary Career[edit | edit source]

Hunt was elected in 2005 when the then sitting MP was made a peeress.

In 2009, Hunt was investigated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards after allowing his political agent to live in his taxpayer funded home in Farnham as a lodger from November 2005 to June 2007 as well as the fact that he was claiming expenses for two houses which MPs weren't allowed to do. He ended up paying back just over £7,000. He survived the revelations.

In 2010 he said that football hooliganism was in part responsible for the Hillsborough Disaster and royally pissed off everyone in the North and Andy Burnham. He survived the "misspeak".

In April 2012, the Daily Telegraph discovered that Hunt had reduced his tax bill by over £100,000 by receiving dividends from a company he set up in the form of property which was then leased back to the company. The dividend was paid just before a 10% rise in dividend tax and Hunt was not required to pay stamp duty on the property. Again, he survived.

When Vince Cable was BIS secretary, he "declared war" on Murdoch because of News Internaitonal's proposed takeover of BSkyB which would have made it a super media provider thereby, arguably, forcing others out of the market. Instead of getting behind the campaign to end monopolization of the media, David Cameron gave the briefs which covered things like media competition regulations to Hunt at Culture, Media and Sport. When the bid came to Hunt he decided not to refer it to the Competition Commission because Rupert Murdoch had said that he was going to be nice and not take over the world with his media empire. When the [Phone Hacking Scandal]] hit, the bid was dropped. It was later revealed by the Leveson Inquiry that Hunt's special advisers had been in contact with the lobbyists working for Murdoch and the takeover, giving them information which could (and arguably did) improve their chances of a bid which would not have been available to others considering such action. Although Labour called for Hunt to resign or be sacked, he still survived and was cleared by the Leveson Inquiry of any wrong doing on his part.

Hunt was also in charge of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, including the legacy project. He indicated that there would be extra money for schools to engage children in sport as part of the legacy which was met with confusion by everyone involved in the teaching profession since the Secretary of State of Education at the time was drastically slashing direct school budgets.

After all that, Hunt was given a promotion and was made Secretary of State for health. Since he believes in homeopathy and reducing the time-limit for abortions to half their current level, this appointment was met with great surprise. He was reappointed to the position following the 2015 general election.

For some reason he keeps holding on to government positions even though he's clearly corrupt and incompetent. Fandom has spent much time trying to work out what dirt he has on Cameron that allows him to keep being a minister.

Full List of Appointments
• Shadow Minister for Disabled People (6 December 2005 – 2 July 2007)
• Shadow Minister for the Olympics (2 July 2007 – 11 May 2010)
• Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2 July 2007 – 11 May 2010)
• Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport (12 May 2010 – 4 September 2012)
• Secretary of State for Health (4 September 2012 - present)

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

He is known to be a latin dancer in his spare time.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

When doing interviews or appearances, or in fact any time he talks, his eyes bug out and it's really quite scary.

It has been noted that he bears a resemblance to footballer Ryan Giggs.

I see no difference.

Portrayal[edit | edit source]

In the Media[edit | edit source]

Most of the media is just as confused as fandom as to why he still has a job at all, let alone as Secretary of State of Health.

In Fanon[edit | edit source]

He confuses fandom. A lot.

Meme[edit | edit source]
