Clegg Blocking in action

"Clegg Blocking" was an event which took place during House of Commons debates between 2010 and 2015 under the coalition government, in which a minister at the despatch box blocked the camera's view of Nick Clegg. This can also apply to the infamous Jack Straw incident, when his talking continuously for 48 minutes verbally blocked Clegg from giving his own speech.

Response[edit | edit source]

During the 2010 parliament, at PMQs, George Osborne htook to sitting to the right of the Prime Minister David Cameron on the benches, giving the camera an unobstructed view of Nick to his left. Or they might just have been sorting themselves by ideology.
